Magnolia Ink mag

Well I'm sure if you have been following my blog you will have realised that I am a fan of Magnolia stamps. I just can't resist those Tilda's. She is so cute.

So...guess how happy I was when this little number appeared in my letterbox last week? I'd had it on pre-order with Sir Stampalot since before Chrsitmas.

If you love Magnolias like me, then this is the magazine for you. You cannot fail to be inspired by some of the makes inside.

Oh how I wish how I could just spend all day every day crafting!

(p.s I'm STILL writing reports but deadline is Monday, so hopefully I will be able to do a little more making soon)

Tuesday 26 January 2010

great buy!

On Sunday, Simon and I went on our usual Sunday shop browse and popped into the Range.

Now, I've been after some storage jars for ages. I particularly wanted jars as I wanted to put all my paper flowers in.

Walking through the kitchen department I came across these little beauties. Now I'm not a jam maker but as soon as I saw them I wanted them. They are so cute!

And at £1.19 each, they were even more delicious and as they were screaming "buy me! buy me!" how could I not refuse!

Here they are now with the flowers in.

I think these look great. Oh how something as small as 4 glass jars can make a girl like me so happy!

Gift box

Morning everyone!

On Saturday I had my first ever go at making a gift bad. The template was free in a craft magazine and when I saw the photograph of the made article I couldn't wait to have a go.

I wrapped ribbon around the handles and added a bow, flower, brad and gems from my stash.

Now, as a first attempt I have to say I am quite pleased with it and know what I would do to make it better should I make it again. BUT, the finished box is TINY. I doubt you could even put 2 small sweets inside!

So, maybe my next task should be to somehow enlarge the template so that it can actually hold something!

Challenge winner!

Do you remember this card I made for the Anyone for Anya? challenge a couple of weeks ago?
Well ... it won!!!
OK so my name was randomly picked out of the hat (it was never going to win best card or similar as I'm not that good yet), but hey... I WON!
I've won 2 free digi stamps from Karens Doodles. I'll post the images when I get them. They are really sweet.
He He. I'm still chuckling!

New stash!

So...the weekend has gone by and yes I have bought more stash!

My name is Allison and I'm a stashoholic.

I couldn't resist the Papermania goody bag. It was £14.99 and inside you get the yellow/orange capsule collection, acrylic stamp, 12x12 paper holder and some Anita's outline stickers.

I still have reports to write so no crafting for me just yet :(

Brain Fuzz

Oh - I meant to say that I had a bit of brain fuzz today.

I had a spare half an hour and so thought I would colour a Tilda image for my next card. To combine various challenges, I needed to make a blue and white thank you card.

Easy peasy I hear you say ... and yes I'd agree.

So, I sat down with image and pens and coloured her in. I was quite happy for 20 minutes there. Fully absorbed. Finished colouring the image and she's lovely... except she's pink and purple! Doh!

Sizzix dies

Yesterday, my order from Sizzix eventually arrived. I ordered on the 28th December and there were problems with the website so in the end, I only received 10 out of the 25 dies I ordered :(

On the plus side though, I didn't have any dies before this order so anything is a bonus I guess!

So this is what I received:
Sizzlits die - Flower, Lily
Sizzlits die - Flower heart petals and centre
Sizzlits die - Flower, pansy

Embosslits die - Flower

Sizzix Originals die - Heart, ornate
Sizzix Originals die - Hearts, Primitive #2
Sizzix Originals die - Corner Design

Sissix Bigz die - Flower layers #4
Sizzix Bigz die - Circle, Scallop

I also had an embossing folder but can't remember what it is - doh

So - what to do with them?
Well I've been looking around to see if there are any blogs or sites with ideas. I can't find any? Do you know of any?

So, that's the start of my Sizzix die collection...and I want LOADS more., along with more promarkers, more stamps more paper, Martha Stewart punches...does the list ever stop?!!

What's new today?

Well nothing really!

I bought myself an early birthday present just after Christmas. I treated myself to a Sizzix Bigshot and a set of circle nestabilities.
I don't know if you've noticed but I've used my circle nestie quite a lot!!
I've never owned a die-cutting machine before and I'm so excited with my Bigshot. I ordered a lot of things in the sale of the Sizzix website, but having followed a thread on UKS, I'm not sure whether I'm going to get much of it. I really want more things to try though.
So now, obviously I'm hooked on nesties and want more... will have to try and start saving. I always want everything at once and my wishlist is ever growing!

Time to craft!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tuesday 5 January 2010

What snow?

Well apparently the whole of England is covered in snow except for here! We are meant to get loads tonight though so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I really want a snow day!!!!!

I'm not crafting tonight as I'm still tired (there is a baby in the flat above me that cried all night) and my back is aching a lot again.

However, I did go to the post office and pick up my monthly card kit from Cleo Crafts and I have to say that it is yummy!!!

Anyway, I'm off to have a bath and try to ease my back.

Catch you soon
