Quotes swap

Over on UKS I entered an ATC quote swap. I've just had some beautiful pieces of work back (and I'll blog those after my holiday), but I thought I'd show a couple I sent out. I'll post some of the others as well at later dates, but here's 2 to be getting along with.

The backgrounds are made from sprayed cosmic shimmer mists which is then stamped on top. Collage image printed and cut out as well as the quote.
Hope you like them

Little green fairy

I'm off on my hols on Friday for a week and have done one last challenge before I go. The theme on Passion for Promarkers this week is to use green as the dominant colour. I've used a digi stamp from Pollycraft for this one and coloured her with promarkers (of course!). Lots and lots of buttons too, but all very green.

She's a little cutie I think.
Hope you like her too.

The Stamp Man ATC swap

As some of you already know, The Stamp Man are holding an ATC swap. The theme was wings and I made 3 for the swap. Here they are.
The backgrounds are made from cosmic shimmer sprays (I love these at the mo!). I then stamped and embossed the plant with copper embossing powder. Finally, I covered the chipboard dragonflies with fired brick distress ink. I then stamped and embossed a pattern and added some silver stickles.
I'm really looking forward to seeing what I get back.
Hope you like them.

A card for a change!

I haven't made a card or used my Tilda stamps for ages so it seemed time to get her out.
I coloured her with my promarkers, keeping the shades quite muted to keep the distressed/vintage feel.
You can see her more closely here.

I'm going to enter this card into 3 challenges this wee:
Gingersnap Creations - the theme was markers
Passion for promarkers - the theme was distressing
Just magnolia - the theme was vintage
Hope you like it

Origami flowers

So my operation was a success, my recovery period is well and truly over and I'm back into the land of the living.
I spent a few days recooperating at Simons house and whilst he didn't buy me flowers, he did actually make me some!
These photos don't actually do the flowers justice. He used origami paper and patterns. They are actually really intricate when you look closely.

Flowers that last for ever!

By the beach

I wont be posting for a few days now as I've got to go into hospital and I'll be staying at Simons to recooperate.
So I need to get this post in. Over on Tag, you're it, the theme is By the Beach. Now I knew I had a shell stamp that came with craft stamper mag and I had my tag all mapped out. But could I find the stamp (I've recently been transferring all my stamps into cd cases but that's a story for another day), could I heck. I searched high and low but it was nowhere to be found. Do I have any other beachy type stamps I asked myself.? No. Obvioulsy I looked anyway but the answer was still a resounding no.
What to do? I huffed and puffed, shrugged my shoulders for a bit and decided that I wouldn't take part this week.
So there I was, flicking through some of my vintage images when I came across this lady. She was sitting on the beach. AHA!! Eureka moment! So off I set to work. Yellow cosmic shimmer background. Lady sitting on the beach stuck on, a red sun (yes I know it's really a flower stamp but it looks like a sun to me!) and a couple of stamps.

Oh dear. What a pants tag! Never mind. Things can only get better!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Blue bird

I haven't done a Sunday Stampers challenge before so I thought I'd have a go. The theme was blue, coming from the song 'song, sung, blue'. I couldn't find a picture of a bluebird so I had to use a little more imagination!
I've used a postcard today, so working slightly bigger than normal. The background is made from sprayed cosmic shimmers in 2 blue shades. When dry, this was then stamped with a flourish stamp. I then cut out the bird and flower and stuck them on, followed by a couple of black flying birds.
Hope you like it.

Going for a run

Some of you know that I have taken up running. Well, when I say running, I'm actually using the term loosely! I started with a walk run plan and am still not getting very far! But this is where I run. It's such a beautiful place and with my mp3 player on, it's lovely to just lose yourself. It certainly beats running around the streets thinking that everyone is looking and laughing!!

Hope you like it.

4th of July

Look at me go - 3 posts in 2 days!!
So, over on Tag, You're It, the theme is the 4th July and this is the little number that I've come up with.
The background is inked with distress inks and the stars are then stamped and embossed with pearl. The collage was then added on top and a ribbon for good luck!
The photo is not all that clear, sorry, but hey ho.
Hope you like it.

Wedding tag

Over on Tuesday Taggers, the theme was weddings. The sponsor this week is the craft barn, who are offering a £15 voucher for the winner. Obviously I chose to go for a vintage take on this and have come up with this tag.

The background was made with cosmic shimmers and then overstamped with a script stamp and the edges were inked in the same colour. I added a ribbon knot and some cream mulberry flowers plus a couple of pearls.

I really quite like this one and hope you do too.

LOVE chipboard album

I bought the bare love chipboard album by Papermania the other week. I covered all the letters and backboard with paper, sanded the edges and then inked them to get the shabby look.

Once assembled I think it looks really pretty. I haven't done anything else with it yet because I'm not sure what I want to make it into! But it's currently sitting on top of my tv unit, looking lovely.
Hope you like it.
